Peer Review Process

Common process for P-IUS journals; adapted to books (chapters) where applicable.

1. Review model

Double-anonymous peer review by default. Open review may be used for specific initiatives with explicit agreement.

2. Steps

  • Editorial check (compliance, anonymization).

  • Desk review (fit).

  • Two reviewers assigned.

  • Decision (accept, minor/major revisions, reject).

  • Author revision.

  • Final check.

  • Production (copyediting, layout, proofs).

3. Indicative timelines

  • Editorial check: 7–10 days.

  • Review: 4–8 weeks.

  • Revisions: 2–4 weeks (minor) or 4–8 weeks (major).

  • Production: 2–4 weeks.

4. Confidentiality and impartiality

Reviewers commit to confidentiality and must disclose conflicts of interest. Decisions are based on scholarly criteria. Authors may appeal decisions via a documented procedure.
