Journal of Civil Society, Social Movements & Education (SME)

SME is an open access scholarly journal published by Presses universitaires de l’Institut Universitaire des Sciences (P‑IUS). Semi‑annual journal (2 issues per year). It publishes original peer‑reviewed research, thematic issues, and may also accept scholarly monographs and edited volumes.

P-IUS journals apply a strict research integrity policy based on originality, transparency, respect for research participants, and full disclosure of conflicts of interest and funding sources. Plagiarism, self-plagiarism, data fabrication and falsification are strictly prohibited. Similarity checks and ethical screening may be carried out at any stage of the editorial process.

Additional principles

  • Duplicate or simultaneous submissions are not allowed.

  • Disclosure of conflicts of interest (COI) and funding is mandatory.

  • For studies involving human subjects, informed consent and data anonymization are required.

  • The use of generative AI tools must be disclosed; AI cannot be listed as an author.

  • Formal procedures exist for corrections, retractions, and expressions of concern when necessary.
