SCMSE is an open-access academic journal published by the Presses universitaires de l’IUS. It is dedicated to the study of contemporary social and educational transformations. The journal publishes original research on civil society, social movements, educational policies and inequalities, with particular attention to Caribbean, Francophone and Global South contexts.

Editorial Line

The journal adopts multi-method approaches (qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods) with a strong empirical foundation. It maintains broad disciplinary openness, including sociology, education sciences, anthropology, social psychology and political science.

SCMSE particularly values research on inequalities, youth, gender, citizenship, pedagogical innovation and digital education. The journal promotes open and responsible science, emphasizing research ethics, methodological transparency and data anonymization when required. 

The journal also welcomes thematic issues, field notes, and monographs or edited volumes, subject to academic peer review.
